A couple of weeks back we talked about a great
wideout from Allendale by the name of Nate Couturier. Today, we are
showcasing another wide receiver, who is just as talented, in Grand
Rapids Catholic Central's Nick Marosi.
Marosi has been catching passes on the varsity for
about 12 years now (okay it's actually 3 going on 4, but that's quite a
long time) and he has grown into one of the best in West Michigan. At
6'2" 195 lbs, Marosi is a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses as
it's hard for coaches to find someone who is physical enough to handle
covering him.
After making a catch, Marosi doesn't mess around.
The kid puts his head down, gets up field quickly and with his big,
physical frame it is hard to bring him down. He was used in many
different ways last year as he occasionally got a carry or two out of
the backfield. State Champion coach Todd Kolster (12-2, D4 in 2010)
returns and will definitely find as many different ways as possible to
get Marosi the ball.
It's going to be fun watching this kid week 1 vs
East Grand Rapids as the Cougars look to strike back after the Pioneers
beat them 24-7 to open the season a year ago.
Quick Stat:
Marosi had 7 receptions for 152 yards and 2
touchdowns last season vs South Christian.
