Random observations: Playoffs, round 2 and more

Round 1 of the playoffs has passed and some OK Conference teams have seen their seasons end, while others get to live another day.

Observations:

2 teams in the OK Conferences remain undefeated at 10-0 (West Catholic, Zeeland West).

15 teams from the OK Conference remain alive in the playoffs and here is this week's schedule.

Friday (November 7, 7 PM):

Grand Rapids Christian (6-4) at Lowell (9-1)

Hopkins (9-1) at West Catholic (10-0)

More Randomness:

Mona Shores is into the 2nd round of the playoffs for the first time in school history. 9 wins on the year is also the most in school history.

Mona Shores QB Tyree Jackson threw for 270 yards and averaged 20.8 yards per completion vs Caledonia.

Travis Russell had 5 total touchdowns on Friday night. That brings his season total to 37 (20 pass, 17 rush).

Grandville's Brian Cappiello passed 1,000 yards rushing on the season with 101 yards vs East Kentwood on Saturday.

Lowell has reached at least 9 wins in a season 14 out of the last 15 years.

East Kentwood won their first playoff game since 2003.

Northpointe Christian surrendered just 6 points to Fennville. Northpointe has given up 7 or less points a total of 7 out of 10 games this season.
