Random observations from week 2 of the season

Week 2 of the 2014 season is in the books, but before we move on, we should recap some of the events of the weekend. It's time for some more random observations.

Observations:

Grand Rapids Christian scored all 21 of their points in the 2nd quarter of a 29-21 loss to Muskegon and the Big Reds held the Eagles to 11 total yards in the 3rd quarter.

Grandville has scored 86 points in 2 games this season. The last time they scored 86 points over a 2-game span was 2006.

Every team in the OK Red won in week 2.

5 of 6 teams in the OK Blue won in week 2 after 5 of 6 OK Blue teams lost in week 1.

20 of the 48 OK Conference teams remain undefeated at 2-0 (OK Red has five 2-0 teams).

West Catholic scored the most points of any OK Conference team (51).

In the Caledonia-South Christian game, 6 touchdowns covered 60-plus yards. Caledonia had TD runs of 65, 78, 61, and 63 yards. South Christian had a 70-yard TD pass and a 69-yard TD run.

Muskegon Reeths-Puffer is off to their first 2-0 start since 2000.

Northpointe Christian shut out their opponent again, this time beating Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart 34-0.
