Week 3 of the 2014 season is in the books, but before we move on, we should recap some of the events of the weekend. It's time, once again, for some more random observations.

Observations:

In week 1, we saw Noah Salasky boot EGR to a season opening win over Catholic Central. This past Friday, we saw John Masselink lift South Christian to a 33-30 win in OT with a 23-yard field goal.

Muskegon Mona Shores scored on an 80-yard TD run 18 seconds into the game vs Rockford, but the Rams shutout Mona Shores for the rest of the game in a 10-7 win.

12 teams in the OK Conferences remain undefeated at 3-0.

Every team in the OK Red is above .500 after week 3. (Rockford, East Kentwood, and Hudsonville are 3-0, Grandville and West Ottawa 2-1).

Lowell starts the season 3-0 for the 7th consecutive season (3-0 starts 10 out of last 11 seasons).

Forest Hills Northern is off to their first 3-0 start since 2002.

Cedar Springs has scored 140 points this season and their opponents have scored just 26.

The West Catholic defense forced 3 more turnovers on Friday night, which puts them at 12 for the season (7 INT, 5 forced fumbles).

East Kentwood is averaging 42.6 points per game in 2014. They averaged 22 per game in 2013.

8 OK Conference teams scored 40 points or more on Friday night.

Catholic Central, East Kentwood, Hudsonville, Godwin Heights, and Northpointe Christian shut out their opponents.
