Random observations from week 8 of the season

The chaos of week 8 has set up what looks to be an incredible week 9, but before we move on you know exactly what we have to do.

Observations:

3 teams in the OK Conferences remain undefeated at 8-0 (Muskegon, West Catholic, Zeeland West).

Grandville has scored at least 50 points three times this season, which is the first time in school history the Bulldogs have reached this feat.

Calvin Christian QB Austin Heeres had his 2nd 300+ yard passing game of the season on Friday night going 24/42 for 375 yards. He has thrown 18 touchdown passes this season.

West Catholic's Bryce Witham had 3 catches on Friday night and all of them were for touchdowns. He has 17 receptions on the season and 7 of those have been TDs.

Northpointe Christian picked up their 5th shutout of the season, which leads the OK Conferences.

Caledonia has given up 13 total points during their 4-game winning streak (3.3 ppg) and the Scots have registered two shutouts.

4 out of 6 teams in each of the OK Red, Silver, and White conferences has at least 5 wins.

7 teams in the OK Conferences have 5 wins (Godwin Heights, Hudsonville, West Ottawa, Grand Rapids Christian, East Grand Rapids, Kelloggsville, Catholic Central).

Zeeland West scored 62 points and increased their points per game average to 55.1 ppg. The next highest scoring offense in the OK Conferences is West Catholic at 40.1 ppg.

QUICK STAT

For the 2nd straight week, Brian Cappiello and Nolan Meekhof combined for over 300 yards rushing in a Grandville win.
