2014 Predictions: Offensive Player of the Year
By: WM Football Network Staff August 26, 2014

With the season officially kicking off on Thursday, we couldn't think of a better time to begin dishing out our predictions for the 2014 season. First up, check out our picks for Preseason Offensive Player of the Year.

Sam's Pick: Allendale WR Nate Couturier

And here's why: I don't know if there is a better playmaker on the outside in all of West Michigan. Couturier does it all for Allendale and will once again put up huge numbers this season. The kid is a threat to score every time he touches to ball as he shows great field vision while running after the catch. He makes a huge impact on special teams as well and someone other teams do not like to punt the ball to. All you need to do is get the ball into Couturier's hands and he will take care of the rest. Losing a great QB like Haiden Majewski hurts, but Allendale will find ways to get him the ball in 2014.

Casey's Pick: South Christian QB Jon Wassink

And here's why: I am going to shock the world here and go with South Christian QB Jon Wassink. Okay, a lot of people have Wassink putting together another great year and they should. He is everything you want in a quarterback as he possesses great size, arm strength, and speed. I love the way he can deliver strong throws from the pocket, but also can tuck it and run when he needs to. With plenty of weapons around him to spread the ball to, Wassink will be great once again in 2014.

A close 2nd: Mona Shores QB Tyree Jackson and Grand Rapids Catholic Central WR/RB Nick Marosi.
