Week 8 shook up West Michigan and let's take a look at some of the performances that made it happen.

Caledonia: The Scots beat Lowell 33-0 and showed why they are one of the best teams in West Michigan. Tanner Christian threw 2 touchdowns to Eddie Kelly, Jalen Burton punched in a TD, and Christian added a rushing touchdown as well. The defense shut down the Red Arrows and everything was working for Caledonia. The Scots find themselves in the playoffs after picking up their 6th win and in a position to have a shot at an OK White Conference title.

Carter Masek (LB, East Grand Rapids): Masek blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown in the 4th quarter of East Grand Rapids' 31-7 win over Grand Rapids Christian. The TD increased EGR's lead from 17-7 to 24-7 and helped put the game out of reach.

Bryce Witham (TE/DE, West Catholic): Witham had 3 receptions for 77 yards and all 3 of those receptions went for touchdowns on the night. Defensively he had 7 tackles (3 TFL) including a sack.

Michael Ivy (RB, East Kentwood): Ivy racked up 248 yards and 3 touchdowns in East Kentwood's 36-3 win over Rockford. He scored all 3 of his touchdowns in the 2nd half as the Falcons jumped to the top of the OK Red standings.

Char and Kenny Willekes (RB, Northpointe Christian): Char scored 4 touchdowns and ran for 183 yards, while Kenny added 126 yards and 2 touchdowns. Char averaged 18.3 yards per carry and Kenny averaged 14.

Brian Cappiello (RB, Grandville): Cappiello ran for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 53-18 win over Grand Haven. He added a 39-yard TD reception in the win.

Nolan Meekhof (RB, Grandville): Meekhof joined Cappiello with a 100-yard game once again. This week Meekhof had 144 yards and 3 touchdowns to help Grandville pick up their 4th win of the season.

Geff Plasman (RB, South Christian): Plasman ran for 192 yards and 3 touchdowns to lift South Christian to a 35-23 win over Middleville TK. The win gives South Christian at least a share of the 2014 OK Gold Championship.
