The
2014 regular season has come to a close, but week 9 brought us some
great performances before we move on to the postseason.
Kyle
Friberg (QB, East Kentwood): Friberg was 9/16
for 218 yards and threw 3 touchdowns as the Falcons won a share of the
OK Red Championship. Friberg added a rushing touchdown as East Kentwood
beat Grand Haven 56-17.
Michael
Ivy (RB, East Kentwood): Ivy
has been a beast all season long and against Grand Haven he racked up
183 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground.
Eppe
Saarenheimo-Vanderhorst (DL, Grandville): Saarenheimo-Vanderhorst
was part of a great Grandville defense that led the Bulldogs to a 22-7
win over Hudsonville. He registered 6 tackles and 2.5 sacks as part of
a Grandville defense that collected 6 sacks on the night.
Daniel
Shanley (LB, Grandville): Shanley had 6 tackles
(4 TFL) and 3 sacks in Grandville's 22-7 win over Hudsonville. He and
the Bulldogs' defense held the Eagles to 109 total yards.
Austin
Burns (QB, Wayland Union): Burns was 11/16 for
230 yards and threw 4 touchdowns in a losing effort vs South Christian.
Travis
Russell (QB, West Catholic): Russell had 5
total touchdowns for the third time this season. He was 14/25 for 200
yards and threw 4 touchdowns, while adding 131 yards rushing and a TD
on the ground.
Kyle
O'Connor (QB, Greenville): O'Connor was 7/11
for 146 yards and threw 2 touchdowns in Greenville's 24-14 win over
Northview. He added 186 yards on the ground and 2 rushing touchdowns.
Bryce
Witham (TE, West Catholic): For the second
straight week, Witham caught 3 touchdown passes. He had 7 receptions
for 127 yards and the 3 TD catches on the night.
Brock
Bethke (DB, Jenison): Bethke
had 8 tackles and an interception for the Wildcats vs East Grand
Rapids. He added a rushing TD.
