Sailors keep rolling, win 4th straight game

Geff Plasman ran for 2 touchdowns, caught one, and threw another as South Christian cruised to their 4th straight win 51-0 over Ottawa Hills.

Jon Wassink put the Sailors on the board with 10:16 left in the 2nd quarter with a 1-yard TD run. This capped a 12-play, 61-yard drive by the Sailors and put them up 7-0.

On the next drive, a bad snap on the punt by Ottawa Hills bounced all the way inside the 10-yard line. After a penalty on the Sailors, Wassink had a 6-yard run and then Geff Plasman reached the endzone on an 11-yard TD run making it 14-0 with 8:17 left.

After a three and out, South Christian pulled off some trickery on a sweep play to Plasman who threw it downfield to Brandon VanSolkema for 23 yards. Later on the drive Plasman reached the endzone again, this time from 3 yards out for another TD putting the Sailors up 21-0.

Ottawa Hills had trouble with snaps the entire night and with 15 seconds left in the half another bad snap resulted in a safety giving South Christian a 23-0 lead at the half.

The second half was all South Christian as the Sailors put up 21 points in the 3rd quarter to take a 44-0 lead. Wassink hit Plasman on a 9-yard TD, Dylan Brink recovered a fumble for a TD, and Nate Honderd had a 10-yard rushing touchdown.

Plasman registered his 4th touchdown of the night as he threw a 9-yard TD to Adam Jongsma with two minutes left.

Notes:

Geff Plasman had 20 carries for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Jon Wassink was 11/18 for 126 yards with a TD, added 9 carries for 42 yards and a TD on the ground.

South Christian had 351 yards of total offense.
