On the defensive side of the ball, the Falcons forced 5 turnovers (4 INT, 1 fumble) and capitalized on the Red Hawks' mistakes. Ben Sweedyk, Nick Buursma, Drew Hernandez, and Jason McDonough each had an interception.

The defense was getting into the backfield quickly as they registered 11 tackles for loss on the night to go along with the 5 turnovers forced. Union couldn't get anything going on the ground as they averaged 2.7 yards per carry and rushed for just 51 yards.
