Player of the Game: Mike Johnston seemed to be in on just about every play tonight defensively and finished the game with 11 tackles and he returned an interception 21 yards for a TD. Johnston also added 72 yards rushing on 7 carries.

Breakout Star: Matt Solberg hadn't touched the ball yet this season, but tonight he was the feature back for the Pioneers. Solberg racked up 178 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter.

Shined in a losing effort: Ben Sinclair was a BEAST for Grandville tonight with 217 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. He averaged almost 9 yards per carry.

Moment of the night: There were so many, but the trick play touchdown with 7 seconds in the half completely changed the momentum of the game. Sloan hit Banbury for the 57-yard touchdown after Roth swung it out to Sloan behind the line of scrimmage. The TD tied the game 14-14 and gave EGR a boost into the 2nd half.

What's next: East Grand Rapids (3-2) will face Kenowa Hills at Fifth Third Ballpark, while Grandville (2-3) heads to Rockford.
