Scatterd rain and defense filled most of the 1st quarter in this rivalry game as the East Grand Rapids defense held strong, while the Lowell defense pressured QB Mikey Roth early on. Max Dean got Lowell on the board with a 3-yard TD with 1:45 left in the quarter. The TD capped a 81-yard drive by the Red Arrows in which Lowell QB Ryan Stevens had a 17-yard run and a 34-yard pass to Gabe Steed. After EGR roughed the kicker on the PAT, Lowell brought the offense back out and punched it in for a 8-0 lead.

The Lowell defense continued to get pressure on Roth throughout the 2nd quarter making it difficult for the Pioneers to move the ball. After the teams traded a few punts, Lowell was able to capitalize on an East Grand Rapids fumble inside the EGR 5-yard line. On the next play, Max Dean ran in his 2nd TD of the night, this time from 2 yards out. Lowell once again went for two and converted giving the Red Arrows a 16-0 lead.

EGR would respond on the next drive as QB Mikey Roth hit Sam Matthews on a seam route down the middle and Matthews took it 79 yards to the house cutting the lead to 16-6 with 6:46 left in the half. The Pioneers failed to convert on the two point conversion.

Later in the half, Gourney Sloan fumbled a punt around the EGR 20-yard line and it ended up bouncing down to the 1-yard line where the Red Arrows fell on it. On the next play, who better than Max Dean to run it in as he picked up his 3 TD of the night giving Lowell a 22-6 lead with 1:19 left in the half.

Down 22-6 with less than a minute left before the half, the Pioneers needed a big play and they delivered. A personal foul on a Roth 13-yard pass to McCardell put EGR at Lowell's 35 and then two plays later, Roth hit Sam Matthews for a 37-yard TD. The two point conversion failed and the teams headed into the locker room with the score being 22-12 Lowell.

In the 2nd half, EGR got hot and used big plays to take the lead. After a Lowell fumble on their own 19-yard line, the Pioneers capitalized with a 24-yard field goal by Noah Salasky cutting the lead to 22-15. Then on the following possession the Pioneers' defense held strong and Brendan Oosse sacked Lowell QB Ryan Stevens on 4th down.

East Grand Rapids took over on their own 31-yard line and went 69 yards down the field. Roth capped the drive with a 2-yard TD pass to Mason Banbury to tie the game 22-22. The game headed into the 4th tied until Salasky hit a 27-yard field goal with 5:05 left giving the Pioneers their first lead of the game 25-22.

The EGR defense forced Lowell to punt with 2:54, but Lowell had all of their timeouts remaining. The Red Arrows forced a 3 and out, then Ryan Stevens put together what ended up being the game-winning drive.

Starting on their own 48, Stevens hit Gabe Steed for 32 yards down to the 20. A few plays later, Max Dean ran in his 4th touchdown of the game giving Lowell a 28-25 lead with 59 seconds left. The Red Arrows went for two and converted extending the lead to 30-25.

With 25 seconds left, Mikey Roth was picked off by Matthew Cooper at the Lowell 31-yard line which gave Lowell a 30-25 win.
