Caledonia powers past Lowell 33-0

Caledonia (6-2, 3-1 in OK White) shook up the OK White with a big win over Lowell (7-1, 3-1 in OK White), shutting out the Red Arrows. QB Tanner Christian threw 2 touchdown passes, both to Eddie Kelly, and Kelly ran for 170 yards on the night. Christian added a rushing TD and so did Jalen Burton as the Scots put themselves into a position for at least a share of an OK White Conference Title.

Plasman lifts South Christian past Middleville TK

South Christian (6-2, 4-0 in OK Gold) picked up their 6th straight win and at least a share of the 2014 OK Gold Championship with a 35-23 win over Middleville Thornapple-Kellogg (4-4, 3-1 in OK Gold). Geff Plasman had 192 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns for the Sailors, while Jon Wassink threw a TD and ran for another in the win.

East Grand Rapids picks up key win vs Grand Rapids Christian

Defense and a strong run game led the Pioneers (5-3, 2-2 in OK White) to a crucial 31-7 win over Grand Rapids Christian (5-3, 2-2 in OK White). Bryce Henkey ran for 136 yards, Mikey Roth was 2/3 for 35 yards and a TD for East Grand Rapids. Carter Masek blocked a punt and returned it for a TD in the win. Malik McLaughlin ran for 113 yards and a TD for the Eagles.

Cappiello, Meekhof great again as Grandville tops Grand Haven

Brian Cappiello ran for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Nolan Meekhof added 144 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Bulldogs. Cappiello caught a 39-yard TD pass from Ryan Koorndyk as Grandville (4-4, 2-2 in OK Red) beat the Bucs (3-5, 0-4 in OK Red) 53-18. Schaefer Thelen ran for 95 yards and a touchdown for Grand Haven.

Ivy runs East Kentwood past Rockford

East Kentwood (7-1, 3-1 in OK Red) vaulted themselves to the top of the OK Red Standings with a 36-3 win over Rockford (6-2, 3-1 in OK Red). Michael Ivy ran for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Falcons, while Kyle Friberg was 6/9 for 115 yards and a TD. Friberg also added a rushing TD. Jake Sendzik led the Rams with 71 yards rushing.

Cedar Springs takes down Greenville 48-16

Cedar Springs (7-1, 4-0 in OK Bronze) used a balanced offensive night to beat Greenville (4-4, 2-2 in OK Bronze). Zach Wamser had 80 yards rushing with 2 touchdowns, MavRick Cotton added 60 yards with a TD, and Cameron Alvesteffer had 37 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kaden Myers had 104 yards rushing and caught a 35-yard TD pass from Alvesteffer.

Calvin Christian tops Kelloggsville 41-21

QB Austin Heeres was 24/42 for 375 yards and 2 touchdowns for Calvin Christian. Heeres added a rushing touchdown, while Ben Miedema, Troy DeGroot, and Andrew Barnes also had rushing touchdowns. Tony DeWitte had 10 receptions for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns on the night.

MOMENT OF THE DAY
Grandville DB Danil Young picked off Hudsonville QB Mason Opple with 2:15 left in the game to seal a 22-7 win for Grandville for the Bulldogs first winning season since 2006.
